Lipid levels generally improve with weight loss even on our very low carbohydrate fasting programs.  However a recent published study from the University of Maryland Medical Center shows that for weight maintenance, a lower fat, higher healthy carbohydrate diet may be more beneficial to reduce heart disease risk.  It’s most important not to quit after successful weight loss on a fasting plan but to make the transition to healthy balanced maintenance habits.
