The Obama administration has decided to ditch the food pyramid. The pyramid has been criticized for being overly complicated and not distinguishing between healthy foods like grains and fish and unhealthy foods like white bread and bacon.
In its place will be a simple plate-shaped symbol half-filled with fruits and vegetables.
