“I’m Addicted to Sugar”

New published research from the University of California, San Francisco, appears to validate what patients have told me they’ve observed for years. Sugar, particularly fructose, works to cause “habituation” and “dependence,” similar to the effects of alcohol and some drugs. It also works similarly to alcohol in the liver, leading to metabolic syndrome and hepatic inflammation. We’d be advised to control sugar consumption.
