Dr. Lazarus will teach you why weight management is so difficult and arm you with the best tool to keep weight off - knowledge and understanding. He does classes nearly every week. 5 years ago I had the pleasure of meeting a new patient at Clinical Nutrition Center. For privacy reasons, I’ll call her Lilly. She was an incredible person with her 60th birthday coming up. She wanted to get healthier and feel better.
A patient once asked me “Who is the most likely to be successful at losing weight?” After a brief moment, I answered “Moms who have a child getting married in a few months.” In my 12 years working at Clinical Nutrition Center, nearly every mom wanting to get into that pretty dress for the child’s wedding has succeeded. Many even lose more weight than they intended.
Vitamin D plays an important role in bone health and also with regards to proper biochemical functioning of fat tissue. Did you know that one of the most common causes of low vitamin D is excess weight? It is now recommended that individuals with excess weight be screened for low vitamin D levels.

Men face many unique challenges when it comes to losing weight and keeping it off permanently. Instead of reinventing the wheel for every new challenge and situation, why not learn from others that have successfully faced that challenge? And, why not share your successes to help motivate others?
The holidays have arrived. Time to have a drink. Really? Is the doctor really recommending alcohol?
Compared to losing weight, keeping it off is a whole different ballgame. Losing weight is exciting – seeing 10 pounds, 20 pounds, or even 50 pounds come off quickly helps us stay engaged and motivated. Unfortunately, keeping the weight off doesn’t give us that reward of seeing the scale number go down, seeing our clothing size shrink, seeing our bodies return to how they were when we were younger.
