Cravings are inevitable and some days we just want to give in to them. On those days when you are craving something sweet or salty you might just need to give in to the craving with something portion-controlled. Don’t keep denying yourself on those days, or you just might end up blowing your diet plan completely!

When you are craving sweets try these foods:

  • Sugar free yogurt (like Carb-Master or Light and Fit)
  • Sugar free gum or hard candies
  • Sugar free gelatin
  • Sugar free hot chocolate
  • Sugar free ice pops
  • Mug of Good Earth sweet and spicy tea
  • One square of dark (70% cocoa)chocolate (100 calories)

When you are craving salty foods, try these:

  • Dill pickles
  • Chicken or beef broth
  • 10 olives
  • 2 ounces of beef or turkey jerky
  • Miso soup or chicken broth
  • Laughing cow cheese wedge
  • 100 calorie bag of popcorn

OR….instead of giving in to your cravings get out of the house and get moving. Walking just 15 minutes can reduce your cravings. In addition, always remember that eating something on a regular basis, every 3-4 hours is your best way to avoid cravings in the first place.
