Get motivated at your next office visit

The room is equipped with a walking treadmill - this is a comfortable treadmill designed for slow paced walking. These treadmills are most often used in the business environment to set up moving workstations. There is also a workplace bike - again, this is designed for workplaces so employees can be active while working. In between these, we have an adjustable height desk that we can use to review your food plan, make chart notes and access our electronic medical record.

How About If We Walk While We Talk?

During my past 10 years with CNC, I've spent countless hours brainstorming strategies with patients to help keep the weight off. The problem is, the main drivers of weight re-gain are genetics and environment. Most of my patients aren't getting any younger, and most don't report improvements in the environment with weight loss. So, after losing weight, in addition to no improvements in genetics and no improvements in environment, we now understand that biologically the body is desperately trying to regain the lost weight through many mechanisms.

Ethan Lazarus elected to the Board of Trustees at the American Society of Bariatric Physicians

The American Society of Bariatric Physicians (ASBP) has been at the forefront of educating physicians on the evaluation and treatment of obesity and medical weight loss for 45 years. Dr. Lazarus has been very involved with the ASBP having helped teach their Obesity Medicine Review Course for the past several years. He also serves as the ASBP’s delegate in the American Medical Association (AMA).

Why Obesity Medicine Specialists are Needed by Patients Affected by Obesity & Overweight

Dr. Ethan Lazarus invited a collection of physicians to think about the influence of weight bias and the stigmatization of obese people at the Spring Obesity Conference of the American Society of Bariatric Physicians this past spring. In his talk, he reviewed the ways people are treated differently due to their weight, and presented the idea that obesity medicine doctors should become a primary aspect of the health and wellness equation.
